Dare to Take Vacations

Many people decide to become entrepreneurs, to leave the structure and restrictions of the corporate world, in part so they CAN be in charge of their schedule and take more vacations. But, people act a little like trained fleas. We live in the 2-3 week vacation-days-a-year world. We may have spouses - like I do - who do work in that world. So we plug along and fall into the rut. We literally forget we have the freedom to choose otherwise.
Your business and you will thrive if you take quarterly vacations.
Solo entrepreneurs are the worst. Having no one else to get things done, you have many good reasons to postpone vacation, should you actually consider taking them.
Do you recognize any of these reasons?
- Prospects will call you for new business while you're gone...and they'll go elsewhere because you're not there.
- What about your clients? Will they survive without you?
- You still have X, Y and Z to do…(the same old someday game)
- You will when you have enough money
Imagine what it would be like to take 4 weeks off a year.
Start to think about what you'd do and where you'd go. What will you catch up on? Rest, movies, nature, travel, reading, sports? Who will go with you, if anyone? What is most likely to charge your batteries so you can be even better at serving your customers, and taking your business to the next level?
In Dare to Take Vacations we'll:
- Explore what youre beliefs are about taking vacations (yes, it often starts with beliefs)
- Review the value and purpose of vacations and how they help you in your business
- Identify the ideal vacation schedule and destination spots for you this year
- Start on a plan to implement your quarterly vacation schedule
